"The darkness is there

to show you your light."

Oprah Winfrey

Staying in the light and working positively towards our goal energizes us in our drive to end gun violence. Through collaboration with educators, legislators, activists and concerned citizens, we are a team driven to put an end to gun violence and honor Taylor's life. These partnerships are the fuel behind our action and foster annual events to bring forward our mission.

"I can hardly begin to imagine the strength of will it takes to go through what you’ve been through and you’re demonstrating profound grace by turning your grief into action," said United States Senator Amy Klobuchar via video at our 1st Annual Gala. "As we all know, gun violence is an issue that demands our attention."

Our strength comes from the unwavering desire that no family should have to go through the experience that has so deeply impacted the Hayden family. And, with the support of a team united and working together, we have become warriors in the light as we move to end gun violence.

Our Annual Gala is a fundraiser that honors the life of Taylor and illustrates how devastating gun violence is to family, community and country. We gather as an affected community, and by uniting, we can make a difference in our efforts to end gun violence. The event is energizing and helps us raise money so our work can continue.

The second annual event is participation in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. A group of staff from Wayzata High School, wanted to "do something" to help end gun violence, and they believed they could impact our cause by inviting people to join them. Groups from WHS and outside of the school participate in the 5k, 10K, 10 mile and marathon each year. The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude about life as they honor and take care of their bodies while encouraging others to do the same.
