Youth Development
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead
Building off the first pillar of education, our youth development goal is to empower young people to make positive social change. In an ambassador program that fosters mentorship and leadership skills, youth become educators about gun violence and advocates for real change in our communities.
Through meaningful life experiences, supportive adult relationships and reinforcement of positive values, we hope that once our youth know better, they will do better and help to bring change, thus decrease gun violence in our country.
"Let’s figure out if can intervene, and especially in young people’s lives, so they don’t use guns as a way to get back at society," claimed MN Senator Jeff Hayden. We need to talk "about who is doing this, why they are doing this and getting them the support that they need."
We are in the beginning phases of this program and will continue to build on this pillar.
We must nurture our future
